Ok, I don't think Torrid has styled the plaid tube top to it's best advantage. But I think this is a cute top that would look great underneath a black fitted blazer. The blazer would cut down on some of the campiness that Torrid's representation has going on; it would also create some definition at the waist, which this top is seriously lacking.
I work in a creative environment and could see myself wearing this underneath a business suit. Or I'd wear the top with the aforementioned blazer, jeans, and black patent leather heels for a night downtown. The possibilities here are somewhat endless - I'm heading to my family's lake home in a couple weeks and could also see this tossed on over my swimsuit and a pair of shorts.
I also find myself strangely drawn to that top. I'm not very preppy yet have a surpising attraction to plaid. I agree with you that this could look nice under a suit jacket and even more chic with awesome patent leather pumps...not that I'm that daring! More structure would be nice though. And truth be told, I never wear tube tops. How do you get them to stay up and not conflict with a bra?
ReplyDeleteHey Emelita-
ReplyDeleteFor the bra situation with tube tops, if I know I won't be taking off the layer that I'm wearing over the tube top, I just wear a regular bra. If I might be taking it off, I go with a strapless bra - and might adhere it to the top with some Hollywood Fashion Tape.
