While out shopping this weekend, I kept running into linen. Everywhere I went, I'd spot a cute top or dress and rush over to it only to discover the garment was made of linen. My hand would drop in disgust in my heart would drop in disappointment. I realize every spring and summer, linen pops up taking the place of crisp cotton and heavier fabrics. I get that it's breathable. But it's also wrinkly. Perpetually wrinkly. I just can't deal with that. Which is a shame because I love these looks:
Old Navy Linen Blend Ruffle Dress.
Old Navy Pleated Linen-blend Top.
Lane Bryant Pinstriped Gaucho Pants.
Lane Bryant Tab Front Linen Trouser. How do you guys feel about linen? Am I spot on as to how un-wearable this fabric is? Or should I get over my wrinkle issues and embrace linen?
I like relaxed linen. I leave it wrinkled and go with the flow. I avoid stiff structured linen items.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same. Sit down for more than 10mins and your outfit is full of wrinkles. That alone ruins it for me.
ReplyDeleteI am always attracted to linen items, but in actually I always feel lumpy, schlumpy, and dumpy when I wear it. I do have a casual black linen-blend sundress that I wear though and really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan for the same reason...Who wants to wear wrinkled clothing all day?
ReplyDeleteThat being said, it looks better with darker colors...and if Kimberly wears it, it probably looks good.
Stick it in the bathroom while you shower and the wrinkles will fall out. With that said I love linen. It's not unwearable if you let the wrinkles fall out. My cotton stuff gets just as wrinkled but I just let the steam knock the wrinkles out.
ReplyDeletei feel the same when it comes to the wrinkles of the fabric but I can't stop myself when i see those comfortable white linen pants, they just remind me of the beach! love it!
ReplyDeleteDo you think the linen fabric is a flattering one on a lot of shapes?

I think most body types can find a linen that suits them. Some linen is super-thin, some is thicker and drapes differently. If you can get past the wrinkle factor, that is...
ReplyDeleteI always prefer linen clothing and but mostly through these sites: http://www.plussizexl.com and http://www.women-clothing-guide.com
ReplyDeleteAs i m plus size so there is some problem that i faced in selecting the dresses.
